She had pain in her eyes.

Pain you could see.

She smiled but inside, there was no light.

But you see, the experiences that were responsible for this pain, were fuel to a little ember that grew within her.

Soon this ember grew into a flame, caused by a small spark of hope that she deserved better.

She knew the journey would be long and that the days would not always be easy, but she knew that in the end, all would be worth it, for she was free.

She had pain in her eyes, but that pain resulted in freedom.

And from there she was able to do as she pleased.

Within every story of freedom exists pain, so the next time you look at your pain and fear the hopelessness that is accompanied, remember that hope is the fuel to ignite the embers of your fiery transformation.
